Roots of the system[muokkaa | muokkaa wikitekstiä]
The NES was established at New Year's Day 1990 after the FUBK1 tornado have swept the region of Raatimaa, Alivieska - ultimately making 7 000 000 MK of damage. In the first 5 years, the tests of the warnings were made on the 7th day of every month to compete with Vaaratiedote - the system which is normally used on Radio and TV for warnings. The first NON TEST warning was made on the 1st of November 1996 - the blizzard warning was in effect. The Finnish was added to the system on the 12th of October 1993 per the request of the government of the TV Land.
