Plus kanavat
Plus kanavat (eng. Plus channels) is a Pay per View (PPV, also called Premium TV) Television service, which currently is located on channels 40 to 48, and until 2020 was located on subchannels 4-8 of LTVG.
Along with the necessity of paying the TV License, Plus channels require the TV to support VideoCypher 2+ and the television must be updated to operating system version XX.XXXXXVC2 (X are where the version number or the name is).
Firstly launched in 2000 on subchannel 4 of LTVG, the channel was using VideoCypher 1 which wasn't great for the channel's profits, as the system was insecure to pirates and black decoder cards they sold.
In 2007, services encryption was upgraded to VideoCypher 2, which stopped video piracy for 3 months, video piracy was to end with an update to VideoCypher 2+, as all decoding cards were now assigned to specific TVs, and there was no possibility of reassigning the black cards to other TVs.
As of 2020, there are 500 000 subscribers to Plus channels.
